It is a pleasure to curate the exhibition The Weight of My Pocket by the sculptor and researcher Antonio Jurado, which is being presented at the Espai Cultural CARABINEROS.

In this exhibition, the Andalusian artist proposes a reflection on consumption and the human footprint through the transformation of everyday objects into large-scale marble sculptures. Through a subtle interplay of scale, Jurado turns common elements into monumental presences, altering our perception and redefining their symbolic value.

His work, developed throughout a distinguished international career with exhibitions in countries such as Switzerland, China or France, is characterized by a material approach that manages to give marble an unusually warm and approachable quality.

The exhibition offers an opportunity to explore contemporary sculptural practice that engages with current issues from a poetic and critical perspective.
