The Faculty of Fine Arts of Altea brings together more than 300 students at its Open Day

The Faculty of Fine Arts at the Altea Campus of Miguel Hernández University has built upon the success of its Open Day, held on March 26th, with over 300 attendees.
In total, around 320 high school students from various schools in the province of Alicante visited the campus to learn firsthand about the academic programs and facilities of the Faculty.
An immersive experience in university life
More than just a visit, the day allowed prospective university students to immerse themselves in the daily life of the Faculty of Fine Arts through hands-on workshops, guided tours, and participatory activities.
The main objective was to showcase the Faculty as a vibrant creative ecosystem, where theoretical training is combined with technical and artistic experimentation.
During the Open Day, attendees were able to:
- Visit workshops for sculpture, painting, drawing and engraving
- Get to know the photography, video and audio spaces
- Enjoy exhibitions and artistic activities at different points on campus
- Interact directly with faculty and students
More than 50 Fine Arts students actively participated in the organization of the event, acting as hosts and guides.

The event was attended by students and teachers from various schools, including:
IES Mediterráneo (Torrevieja), IES Antoni Llidó (Xàbia), IES Marcos Zaragoza (Villajoyosa), IES Historiador Chabàs (Dénia), IES Las Fuentes (Villena), IES Sixto Marco (Elche), Altea International School (Alfaz del Pi), IES Virgen del Remedio (Alicante), IES Carrús (Elche), IES Altaia (Altea) and IES Bellaguarda (Altea).
A leading faculty in the Mediterranean
The Open Day not only serves an academic orientation function, but also reinforces the positioning of the Faculty of Fine Arts of Altea as an artistic and cultural benchmark in the Mediterranean area.
Following the excellent reception of this edition, the center is already working on new actions to promote the Degree and on the preparation of the 2026/2027 academic year.
Innovative programs for students
During the day, several key initiatives were also presented that reinforce the Faculty’s commitment to the training and professional development of students:
- MAPA Program (Materials to Support Artistic Production)
Funds the materials needed for newly admitted students during their first year. - The Final Degree Project Patron Program,
aimed at fourth-year students, connects their projects with entities in the cultural, business, and institutional spheres. In its latest edition, three projects have received support from entities such as the Caixaltea Foundation, the Altea Nautical Club, and the Altea City Council’s Youth Department. - YUNQUE. High-Performance Program for Artists.
Presented exclusively, this program fosters excellence through mentoring with faculty and professionals from the cultural sector, aimed at third-year students and external candidates.
The Faculty of Fine Arts of Altea thus reaffirms its commitment to artistic training, educational innovation and connection with its environment, consolidating itself as a space of reference for future generations of artists
