The Faculty of Fine Arts will celebrate  <\/span> International Women’s Day<\/span><\/b> with a day of cultural and artistic activities on <\/span><\/span>March 10th <\/span><\/span><\/b> . The program will include discussion panels, live music, and an international video art exhibition. <\/span>The program aims to create spaces for dialogue and creation that address gender issues from contemporary and critical perspectives, highlighting the role of art and the university as spaces for thought, cultural exchange, and social engagement<\/span><\/span><\/b> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Meeting: <\/span><\/span>“<\/span><\/span><\/span> Feminisms in resistance: against Islamophobia and coloniality”<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n

The day will begin at  <\/span><\/span>4:00 PM at l’Experimentari of the <\/span>CIA<\/span><\/span><\/span> <\/span> Center for Art Research <\/span><\/span><\/b> , with the event ” <\/span><\/span> Feminisms in Resistance: Against Islamophobia and Coloniality <\/span><\/span><\/b>.”<\/span><\/span><\/i> <\/span> This initiative aims to create a space for dialogue within academia that centers the voices of Muslim women and analyzes how patriarchy, colonization, and Islamophobia intertwine as systems of oppression. The event seeks to challenge hegemonic and Eurocentric feminist approaches that have historically spoken for these women, rendering their own struggles and resistance invisible. Three Muslim women activists of Palestinian, Moroccan, and Sahrawi origin <\/span>will <\/span><\/span> participate, sharing their experiences and reflections with the goal of broadening perspectives, challenging dominant discourses, and fostering a space for collective learning within the university setting.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The activity invites students, faculty and citizens to participate in a debate that aims to enrich contemporary feminism and promote a university committed to social justice and the plurality of voices.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Ada Moon concert <\/span><\/span><\/span>:<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span> ” <\/span><\/span><\/span>Animal: a journey between love, fear and other destinations”<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n

The program continues at  <\/span><\/span>7:30 p.m. at l’Experimentari <\/span><\/span><\/b> with the concert  <\/span><\/span>Animal: A Journey Between Love, Fear, and Other Destinations<\/span><\/span><\/b> , organized by the  <\/span><\/span>Annetta Nicoli Chair.<\/span><\/span><\/b> <\/span> The musical performance will be given by  <\/span><\/span>Ada Moon <\/span><\/span><\/b>,<\/span><\/span><\/b>  a composer, producer, and singer from Murcia, a multidisciplinary artist, and a graduate of the Faculty of Fine Arts in Altea. In her creative work, Ada Moon conceives of music and image as a single expressive universe, in which sound and audiovisual elements intertwine in a shared narrative that explores emotions, imaginaries, and inner landscapes.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

This concert is made possible through the collaboration of the Social Welfare Area of \u200b\u200bthe Altea City Council, the Center for Research in Art (C.I.A), the Department of Art and the Faculty of Fine Arts of the UMH.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The concert will be <\/span><\/span>free and open to the public<\/span><\/span><\/strong> until capacity is reached.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

International Video Art Exhibition <\/span><\/span><\/span>:  <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span> ” <\/span><\/span><\/span>Women Alive! Women Alive!”<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n

The day is completed with the  <\/span><\/span>exhibition<\/span><\/span><\/span>  of  <\/span><\/span>video<\/span><\/span><\/span> art and  <\/span><\/span>gender<\/span><\/span><\/span> in the Ibero-American context <\/span>\u00a1Mujeres  <\/span><\/i><\/strong>Vivas <\/span><\/i><\/strong>! \u00a1Vivas Mujeres!,<\/span><\/i><\/strong> which can be visited from  <\/span>March 10 to 17 in the Albir Building of the Faculty of Fine Arts of Altea.<\/span><\/strong><\/span> <\/span><\/i><\/i><\/i><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Curated by Lilian Amaral and Fabiane Santos, the exhibition brings together 28 women artists from various Ibero-American countries and offers a critical reflection on the active presence of women in contemporary art. <\/span><\/span> <\/span>The project, which began at the Pre-Departmental Unit of Fine Arts (University of Zaragoza), is now embarking on an international tour that will connect academic institutions and creative spaces in Europe and Latin America. After its run at the Teruel Campus, the exhibition arrives at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Altea (UMH) and will subsequently travel to the MediaLab at the Federal University of Goi\u00e1s in Brazil.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Through  <\/span><\/span>various <\/span><\/span><\/span> works of video art, video performance, and experimental audiovisual practices, the exhibition addresses issues such as collective memory, the body and territory, female genealogies, and the social and ecological transformations of the present. From geopoetic and transdisciplinary perspectives, video art is presented as a language capable of connecting personal experiences with global issues.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

With this program, the Faculty of Fine Arts of Altea reaffirms its commitment to the promotion of equality, artistic research and contemporary creation, consolidating the university as a space open to critical thinking, cultural diversity and dialogue between art and society.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
