The Faculty of Fine Arts of Altea of the Miguel Hernández University has inaugurated in Xàbia the exhibition “Poetics, materialities and margins of a center

30 April 2026

The exhibition presents works created by the Center for Research in the Arts (CIA) and offers an intimate look at how art research is conducted today. Through various formats such as sculpture, painting, drawing, video, and sound, the exhibition demonstrates how art is also a way to generate knowledge, experiment, and reflect on society.

The works stem from five lines of research that address topics such as feminism, visual culture, audiovisual media, sculpture, and art management. Far from being separate, these areas are interconnected, generating an open and multidisciplinary workspace.

The exhibition has been curated by María Tinoco, who has organized the works seeking visual and sensory relationships between them, to make the tour more dynamic and attractive.

With nearly 30 years of history, the Faculty of Fine Arts in Altea is reinforcing its commitment to artistic research through the CÍA, a recently established center that promotes contemporary creation. The exhibition is supported by the Xàbia Town Council and the university itself.

It can be visited until May 31st at the Centre d’Art Ca Lambert.
